Incredibly smart decision of the day: Diddy writing his own lyrics

Mr. Sean "Puff 'P. Diddy' Daddy" Combs and Officer Ricky "Rauwwsss" Ross recently announced via YouTube video that they would be ripping off Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch The Throne" album idea with their own upcoming "Bugatti Boyz" project. Before we are able to get too worried, though, Puffy assures us that they will only make us suffer through an EP, rather than a full-length album. The surprising announcement, however, was that Puff, famous for spitting ghostwritten verses, will actually be writing his own lyrics this time… well, half of them, anyway.

Think about that for a second: this will be an EP, which has half the number of songs of a full album (or less), which he will be making with another artist, meaning he will only be rapping half of the verses (or less), and he will only be writing half of those verses. So… his writing debut will probably consist of a whopping 2 or 3 verses. That’s not a good start, but keep going.

For the other half of his verses, Puffy will be calling upon the astounding lyrical ability of none other than Ricky Rozay, himself. Puffy has previously spit verses penned by lauded lyricists such as Nas, T.I., and Royce Da 5’9”, but apparently this time he wanted to try something different, as he chose a rapper who can’t even make his own lyrics sound good (except, somehow, here). Our guess is that Diddy just didn’t want his ghostwritten verses on the project to stand out as way better than those he wrote himself.

In other news, Rick Ross left the Soul Train Awards early, skipping his scheduled performance. Apparently he was surprised and offended that Eminem’s smash single “Love the Way You Lie”, which reached number 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, somehow beat out his own “B.M.F”, which didn’t even hit number 1 on Billboard’s Rap Songs chart for Hip Hop Song of the Year. Shocking.
