Its hard for some to admit, but the fact remains that even your favorite rapper isn't perfect. In fact, every MC on earth has some skeletons in their closet that they would like to unrecord. Let's take a look at the worst song released by some of the world's best rappers:
2Pac - Dopefiend's Diner (from Best Of 2Pac Part 2: Life)
This is what it sounds like when a rapper with one of the most passionate, natural flows in the history of rap decides abandon his gift to rap an entire song in the melody of Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner". Yikes.
Andre 3000 - Speedballin' (from the Tomb Raider Soundtrack)
It would be easy to list one of Dre's many unfortunate singing attempts. But as an MC, 3000 has never sounded so apathetic, uncreative and, frankly, annoying than he does here. Not surprising that he quit rapping around this time.
Eminem - My First Single (from Encore)
Eminem was hooked on pills while recording 2004's Encore, which is probably why it contains so many worst song contenders. However, while the album's other horrible songs may contain a perfectly timed fart, or say something so dumb that you can't help but laugh, this number is truly devoid of anything "redeeming". It can't even get a burp right.
Jay-Z - I Know What Girls Like (from Volume 1: In My Lifetime)
um... really, Jay?
Nas - Who Killed It? (from Hip Hop is Dead)
This song is so laughably bad that you can hear the stank just reading about it: Nasir Jones decides to tell a murder mystery, looking for the killer of hip-hop music... and recites the entire tale in the voice of a 1930's gangster (ala Edward G. Robinson)! HAHAHA
Dopefiend's diner is hilarious ... in a really, really horrendous sort of way ... but hilarious none the less ...
ReplyDeleteIt's like if you're heading to a restaurant with your friends ... and then you see a dope fiend doing something stupid ... and you just feel embarrassed for him but it's just so bad, you can't turn away ... and your friend says come on, let's eat but you just can't turn away ...
